Biloxi School employees get second COVID-19 vaccine dose
Memorial partnered with local schools to vaccinate Biloxi School District employees with their second dose of the Pfizer COVID vaccine.
Today in the Biloxi High School Gymnasium, 190 second dose Pfizer vaccines went into the arms of teachers, staff, and administrators.
Memorial’s goal is to reach teachers and staff with very little disruption to their day.
Starting at 8 a.m., vaccinations began and the vaccination set up got teachers in and out within 20 minutes.
COVID-19 greatly affected the education industry and Memorial wants to do its part to meet the needs of our educators. Nicols Elementary Pre-K Teacher’s Assistant Richelle Bien said, “I think it’s important to be vaccinated as a teacher because our children can spread the virus and even though they might not be symptomatic, that’s one thing that we have to keep in mind that the virus is still spreading and so when you’re vaccinated, I feel like that protects us.”
To date, Memorial has administered over 20,000 COVID vaccines.
