Biloxi public hearing to discuss Spring Break concerns

Mississippi Spring Break attracts thousands of people to the Coast each year. Although it’s an economic boost some Coast residents feel like it’s time for a change.
Dozens of Biloxi residents gathered at the Donal Snyder Recreation Center to express their concerns from the 2017 Spring Break weekend.
Those concerns include traffic violations, short term rental violations, and various personal inconveniences caused by tourists. Biloxi resident Don Henry said, “I think we have the finest police force in the country, but I believe they were overwhelmed, too. We just need to be better prepared to welcome our guests next year and make sure that they obey the rules and don’t take advantage of their numbers.”
A panel of city leaders and public safety officers took turns answering questions and providing details on plans for the future.
