Biloxi Police Share Safety Tips for Trick-or-Treaters

The City of Biloxi shares these Halloween safety tips – regardless of where you and the kiddos trick or treat:

Trick-or-Treat only in well-known neighborhoods at homes that have a porch light on.

A parent or responsible adult should always accompany young children on their neighborhood rounds.

Use a flashlight to see and be seen.

Remove any mask or item that may limit eyesight before crossing a street, driveway or alley.

Stay in a group, walk slowly and communicate where you are going.

Never cut across yards or use alleys.

Wait until children are home to sort and check treats. Though tampering is rare, a responsible adult should closely examine all treats and throw away any spoiled, unwrapped or suspicious items.

Of course, immediately report any suspicious activity to police.
