Biloxi police investigation into Lil’ Boosie incident

On 09 April 2017 at approximately 3:43 p.m. officers with the Biloxi Police Department responded to a disorderly conduct call at 2600 Beach Blvd., Biloxi, Miss., Edgewater Mall. When the initial officer arrived the crowd was near the south entrance of Dillard’s and Loss Prevention was requesting them to leave. The crowd appeared to be following around Boosie Bad Azz, formerly known as Lil’ Boosie. During the encounter, the Loss Prevention Officer and the initial Biloxi Police Officer were assaulted. The suspects fled in a white Mercedes bus.
The bus was stopped a short time later in the area of 1667 Irish Hill. Suspects in the assault and the driver who possessed a stolen firearm were arrested and identified in a previous release. A stolen gun and small bag of Marijuana were recovered from the bus and taken into evidence. Various jewelry was observed along with other property and was secured within the bus to be picked up by the owner. After the traffic stop of the bus, a local tow company impounded and secured the bus inside a locked building pending retrieval by the owner.
On 11 April 2017 allegations were made by Torrence Hatch, A.K.A. Boosie Bad Azz that jewelry he owned, which had been in the bus, was stolen during the incident. When the allegations were first made, the Biloxi Police Department immediately began a thorough investigation into the matter.
The investigation revealed that the bus was still secured in the tow company’s building and the key to the bus had been kept in a safe. The bus remained secure after its initial impounding until it was inventoried on 12 April 2017. Multiple pieces of jewelry and various other pieces of personal property were packaged and placed in safe keeping to be returned to the owners of the property.
At this time arrangements are being made to return all of the property. The investigation into the assault is ongoing.
