Biloxi police investigating the death of four-year-old girl

Biloxi police are investigating the death of a four-year-old girl. An autopsy is scheduled for this week.

Police responded to a medical call in the 2000 block of Lawrence Street at 2 p.m. Tuesday. The child lived at Elmwood Apartments just off Pass Road.

They found the girl had been seriously injured while in the company of two adults. Police did not specify their relationship with the child.

The child was taken to a nearby hospital before she died of her injuries.

The criminal investigations division said no charges have been filed at this time. Biloxi PD PIO Cpt. Milton Houseman said, “The case is currently under investigation right now and things are very fluid because it’s a new case and we are currently awaiting results of the autopsy. We don’t have a lot of information right now. We’re in the information gathering stage.”
