Biloxi Police Investigate Pedestrian Killed in Gulfport
Last night on Highway 49 in Gulfport, a man was struck and killed by an officer driving a marked Gulfport Police Department vehicle.
The Gulfport Police Department contacted the district attorney who assigned the Biloxi Police Department to work with Harrison County Coroner Gary Hargrove on the investigation of the incident.
Today, News 25 caught up with Biloxi Chief of Police John Miller to discuss the investigation. “We were asked by the District Attorney’s Office to oversee the investigation and that’s what we’re doing. We’ll prepare a case file and we’ll present that to a grand jury. Most of the agencies on the Coast have, at the request of the district attorney, have stepped in and conducted investigations into other law enforcement agencies, but the facts are the facts and that’s what we’ll do, we’ll investigate this. We’ll pull the facts together and make it very clear, as clear as we can.”
Information regarding the incident is still limited. News 25 will continue to bring you details as the investigation moves forward.
