Biloxi Police Department seek recruits at city job fair
The City of Biloxi hosted a citywide job fair and one of the largest vacancies they’re hoping to fill is with the Biloxi Police Department.
Chief John Miller tells News 25 they’re looking to hire 25 patrol officers as well as fill other positions in the department.
His officers were at today’s job fair to talk with people interested in joining their team, even scheduling ride-alongs so they can gain a great understanding of what it is like to work in public service.
The fair also highlighted other benefits to working a government job, like the retirement. Job fair attendee Martin Brown said, “Right before I came here, I was talking to my fiancée about becoming a police officer. Coming here really just put me in another step towards that direction.”
There will be another job fair Saturday at the Biloxi Civic Center from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
