Biloxi Police Department getting traffic plans ready for Black Spring Break
Biloxi police are preparing traffic plans for Black Spring Break that starts Thursday.
The police department has been getting traffic plans in place, especially for Highway 90 which they assume will be busy. Along with making sure they have all hands on deck, including having additional officers coming in.
Residents will see an increase in foot and vehicle traffic along Beach Boulevard. If you are looking to avoid the area, Public Information Officer Captain Grandver Everett says stay north of the beach.
This is his first year planning the spring break safety plan. “It’s been different. It’s kind of jumping in the deep end and just trying to see all the little details that go into there. Working a post is easy. You get out there and you know what you’re supposed to do, but when you’re kinda in charge of the entire thing now, it kinda adds a different element to it.”
Everett says his only concern this year is parking and he encourages those to be mindful when it comes to private property.
