Biloxi PD takes part in Red Kettle Campaign

There was a whole lot of kettle bell ringing going on in Biloxi today.

The Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign is now in full swing this holiday season and competition is heating up between first responders.

The Biloxi Police Department was spotted at the Walmart on CT Switzer Road today, raising money for The Salvation Army as they participate in the fire and police challenge.

In addition to donating, those passing by were able to pick up toy plushies, candy, and a chance to drop their Christmas lists off for delivery to Santa.

Proceeds from the challenge will allow The Salvation Army further their mission in helping those in need.

“Our goal is to beat the other police departments in how much money we are raising,” said Kaylene Lowe, the community relations officer for Biloxi PD. “No but our goal is help as much as we can so if there are any people that are out and about we would love have come out and spread a little Christmas cheer with us, maybe sing a little song with us, dance with us, ring some bells. But, our absolute goal is to definitely raise as much money as we can.”

The Salvation Army Red Kettle Challenge continues on Friday with the mayors ringing the kettle bells.
