BILOXI OFFICIALS PARTICIPATE IN ‘FILL THE BOOT’ CAMPAIGN

This morning, Biloxi firefighters and police hit the streets asking for donations for the fill the boot campaign.
Donations collected during the fill the boot campaign go toward the Muscular Dystrophy Association and help MDA’s efforts in groundbreaking research and life-enhancing programs, such as state-of-the-art support groups and care centers.
The funds also help send more than 92 kids to a life-changing experience in an environment without barriers at MDA summer camp at Camp Starlite, all at no cost to their families.
Deputy Chief Andy Mason says, “The fire service has been a part of this since 1954 this is the first time we have been on the street typically we go to Walmart. The police are just arriving now and they are helping us for the first time ever and it’s just a good join effort from Biloxi public service.”
Biloxi firefighters and police will be on Popp’s Ferry and Pass Roads Tuesday and at Popp’s Ferry and Cedar Lake Roads Wednesday from 7 to 8 am and also 4:30 to 6 pm.
