Biloxi mayor speaks about recent violence in the city
Biloxi Mayor Andrew ‘FoFo’ Gilich addressed the shooting spree that took place on Wednesday, leaving four people dead including three at the Broadway Inn Express in Biloxi and also the house party shooting leaving a Biloxi teen injured.
On Saturday night, a shooting took place in Biloxi at a house party on Rachel Drive and Terrace Court leaving a 16-year-old in critical condition.
Days later on Wednesday, 32-year-old Jeremy Reynolds gunned down Mohammad Moeini, 51, Broadway Inn owner, Laura Lehman, 61, employee and resident, and Chad Green, 55, employee and resident than fled the scene and killed 52-year-old William Waltman in Gulfport.
Gilich says crime like this doesn’t usually happen in Biloxi, but he is glad the police department, fire and other first responders have been able to respond quickly. “We try to be as responsible as we possibly can with everything, not just this horrible thing, we just need to review our plans and what we did and react to this event and how we could possibly prevent it again. After the fact, it is hard to figure what should have been done, but we are trying to do that right now.”
Both shootings are still under investigation.
