Biloxi Mayor FoFo Gilich to have heart procedure Tuesday

Biloxi Mayor FoFo Gilich is scheduled to undergo a preventative heart valve procedure tomorrow.

Gilich will have the procedure done at the Debakey Hart and Vascular Center at Houston Methodist Hospital.

Dr. Bassam Baroudi, Gilich’s cardiologist, said he is pleased the procedure is being done now. He says “The mayor should be back to his normal day-to-day activities in a matter of weeks.”

Councilman Nathan Barrett will serve as acting mayor while Gilich is out.
