Biloxi Little Theatre holds ‘A Little Acting Lab’ summer camp
Students are getting an opportunity to see what life is like under the stage lights.
The Biloxi Little Theatre is hosting a summer experience called ‘A Little Acting Lab.’ Students ages eight to 13 are learning new onstage techniques and explain their theatrical skill set.
They are getting to explore the fundamentals of stage acting including authentic character building, onstage physicality, and vocal technique.
The camp is being led by Emily Whittaker. “I think it has so many benefits to be involved in theatre at a young age. Not only is it a lot of fun, and it helps them grow their talents, I think it helps you learn teamwork having to work together in a scene on the stage, it helps you learn to be confident in yourself by getting up and sharing a piece of yourself with an audience of your family and friends, and it helps you to express yourself. You can find a little bit of yourself in every story and every character.”
At the end of the week, the kids get to show off what they learned for their friends and family on the Little Biloxi Theatre stage.
