Biloxi ends standoff on McDonnell Avenue; suspect in custody

On Friday, September 20, 2024 around 10:17 am, Biloxi Police Officers responded to the 200 block of McDonnell Avenue regarding a welfare concern, after it was reported that someone threatened another person in the complex.

Officers attempted to speak with the person, but he was uncooperative and refused to exit the apartment.

Negotiators were later called to the scene in an attempt to de-escalate the situation.

After an extended period of time, officers eventually made contact with the person, leading to him being transported to an area hospital for treatment.

No injuries were reported to the individual, residents, or officers as a result of this matter. The scene was cleared around 1:45 pm.

At this time, authorities are unable to identify the person involved and charges are pending.
