Biloxi hit and run suspect under arrest
A suspect is now in custody for the July 1st hit and run on Reynoir Street in Biloxi.
With the help of Mississippi Coast Crime Stoppers and the public, Biloxi Police Department arrested 46-year-old Jose Luis Alvaras-Rico of Biloxi, the driver of the Toyota Tundra that allegedly struck a pedestrian on Reynoir Street and Howard Avenue.
Alvaras-Rico is charged with leaving the scene of an accident involving major injuries. Upon questioning the suspect, police were able to locate the truck and bring it into evidence. His bond is set at $100,000. The female victim who was hit is still listed as critical condition at a local hospital.
The cause of the hit and run is still under investigation. According to Biloxi police, without the assistance of the public the identity of the driver may not have been discovered.
