Biloxi Councilman facing federal charges released on bond

Biloxi Councilman Robert L. Deming III was freed on bond Monday after a federal judge set conditions for his release.
Deming was arrested Thursday after he was indicted on federal charges of two counts of conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance and one count of destroying, falsifying, or altering a record.
He was initially denied bond at his first court appearance on Friday, but after his attorney and U.S. attorneys met in U.S. Judge Robert Myer’s chambers on Monday, he was given a $25,000 bond and has to abide by several conditions on release.
Deming is an attorney and business owner in addition to serving on Biloxi’s City Council representing Ward 4 since 2013.
