Biloxi Cleophan Club honored with proclamation from mayor

BILOXI, Miss. (WXXV)- Biloxi Mayor FoFo Gilich presented a proclamation to the Cleophan Club at Tuesday’s city council meeting.

The Cleophan Club was founded in 1901 and is thought to be the oldest women’s club in the state. The club was originally founded to provide opportunities of social connection and intellectual enrichment.

Their legacy includes the establishment of the Twelve Palms Memorial honoring World War I veterans, including the relocation and rededication ceremony in 2013.
