BILOXI CITY COUNCIL MEETS AT 2:30

The Biloxi Council has pushed back their meeting until 2:30 this afternoon so members can attend Mayor Guice’s Funeral.

At this afternoon’s meeting, Mayor Gilich will ask council members to approve a measure to engage south Mississippi planning and development district to create an action plan for downtown development that includes the re-opening of Howard Avenue to two-way traffic.
The district’s proposal, which will be crafted after public hearings, is due in four months.
The council will also discuss the possible purchase of a three-acre site on Old Highway 67 for a fire station to serve east Woolmarket and as a location for a public park.
