Biloxi Chamber of Commerce hosts ‘Morning Call’ at IP
The Biloxi Chamber of Commerce hosted its ‘Morning Call’ at the IP today.
The new format allowed Biloxi Council members to update people about what’s happening in their wards in a panel setting.
Today’s panel included Ward 7 Councilman Nathan Barrett, Ward 2 Councilman Felix Gines, and Ward 5 Councilman Dr. Paul Tisdale.
A few of the topics discussed this morning include the recent spring break violence that’s prompted the city to review its special events ordinances as well as new developments.
Ward 2 Councilman Felix Gines says he’s most excited about the new recreation center planned for East Biloxi. “Well, most of our kids are the most disadvantaged kids on the East side of Biloxi, and they have to travel the furthest in order to play rec league from the City of Biloxi. Now, this gives a level playing field for all the citizens and all the children of our community and the City of Biloxi.”
This also gives the City of Biloxi an opportunity to bring back an important facility that was lost to Katrina.
