Biloxi celebrating final ‘First Friday’ of 2021

Biloxi Main Street is celebrating the growth of its First Friday’s Block Party event as it closes out the year with one last bash.

The event has been happening on the District Green since March of this year. The biggest difference for this final party, more businesses than ever are embracing the festival to set up booths.

Main Street President Bobby Gillon tells News 25 the monthly block party is a good way to get people outside on Friday night.

Since the conversion of an unused lot to what we now call the district green, Main Street reports that more businesses and Biloxians are spending time downtown. Gillon said, “So, when we started this in March it was just kind of us, Biloxi Main Street and the District on Howard with an idea. And as we’ve built momentum this year and kind of shown, it’s a good time. We’ve brought in Fly Llama Brewing, FEB Distributing, the Beau Rivage, just to name a few that have really helped us grow this event and going to provide a great night for the community.”

First Friday will run from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with live music performing throughout.
