Biloxi Cat Rescued from 70 ft. Tree by Cambium Tree Care

Many cats like climbing through Christmas trees, but one Biloxi cat may think twice before climbing anything for a while. Bystanders watched as Rusty held on for dear life about 70 feet in the air. He was in the tree for three days.

Cambium Tree Care from Ocean Springs stepped in to save the day. After a lengthy climb, they reached Rusty and after a quick, "get to know you sniff," Rusty got into a nice soft pillow case for the trip down. Rusty now officially has eight lives left instead of nine.

Tony Miller, owner of Cambium Tree Care, says, "There’s a little girl involved who loved her cats and wanted Santa to bring the cat down. We’re not Santa Claus, but we like to help and to see a little kid smile on Christmas. It’s worth it."

Josh Fitchhorn, a tree climber for Cambium Tree Care, says, "It would have been devastating if they lost their cat up there, so it’s nice to be able to help, especially around Christmas."

When News 25 left the scene, Rusty had just eaten a bowl of food and was getting comfortable for a nap.
