Biloxi boys soccer continues “Cinderella Story” run to State Championship
BILOXI, Miss. (WXXV) — The Biloxi Indians’ season on the pitch has been anything but ordinary, as the team has become South Mississippi’s biggest example of a “Cinderella Story.”
Biloxi finished third in district standings, just behind Ocean Springs and Gulfport. The Indians lost a pair of matchups to both teams during the regular season.
After a first round win against Oak Grove, Biloxi would prove that regular season losses couldn’t define their postseason. The program picked up a second round victory over the Admirals and its first-ever South State title against the Greyhounds. Now, the Indians are looking to make history in their first-ever State Championship appearance.
Biloxi will face Madison Central on Saturday at 4 p.m. at Ridgeland High School.
