Biloxi Bay Chamber of Commerce hosted ‘Boo on the Rue’

The Halloween weekend kicked off in Biloxi last night at the District on the Green.

Families enjoyed a free family and pet friendly costume contest for ‘Boo on the Rue.’

Biloxi Bay Chamber of Commerce partnered with the Humane Society of South Mississippi bringing adoptable dogs dressed in spooky costumes.

The event hosted over 20 vendors, arts and crafts, local food trucks, and music played by DJ Surf.

Jack the Biloxi Fire Dog also made a guest appearance. HSSM Development Director Katie King said, “We’ve brought along some of our adorable adoptables. They’re dressed in costume. So, it’s a really fun family and pet friendly event that we’re proud to be a part of. Right now, we are extremely over capacity at the shelter, housing nearly 400 animals. So, we wanted to bring out a couple of our adoptables just to raise awareness and hopefully find them all homes.”

All participating vendors supplied free candy for kids to trick or treat while in their costumes.
