Billfish Classic took place in Biloxi this weekend

The Billfish Classic Fishing Tournament was held over the weekend at the Golden Nugget.

Fishing boats and crews from all over came to the Coast to fish for blue marlin, tuna, wahoo, and dolphin. The tournament was originally supposed to take place last weekend.

Tropical Storm Cristobal caused the tournament to be postponed to this weekend. Billfish Classic Tournament Director Bobby Carter said, “Well it was a lot of working parts in having to cancel the tournament, delay it for another week. I want to thank the city of Biloxi and the Golden Nugget for working with the tournament to keep the marina empty for the boats and also for the Nugget to keep the room block open. And we all just worked together to pull this event off. This is the first time in 24 years we’ve had to postpone the tournament, but you know looking around everything worked out great.”
