Billboard for Wanted Man in Gulfport
Today marks two months since a fatal triple shooting at the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Tennessee Avenue in Gulfport. One man, who authorities say allegedly pulled the trigger, is still at large.
After nearly two months since the crime, 24-year-old J’Var Pope’s mugshot is on three billboards throughout Gulfport, two on Highway 49 and one just east of Courthouse Road.
Lori Massey with Crime Stoppers tells News 25 Lamar Advertising covered the cost of placing Pope’s face on the billboards to help in the search. Sergeant Damon McDaniel with Gulfport PD believes it could be a game-changer in solving the case.
McDaniel says to remember that Pope is considered to be armed and dangerous. If you have seen him please call the Gulfport Police Department at 228-868-5959 or Crime Stoppers.
