Bike sharing program

Get ready, get set, ride! The City of Biloxi makes last minutes preparations before launching its new bike sharing service tomorrow afternoon.
A total of ten Zagster bikes will be placed on racks at MGM Park and the Biloxi Visitors Center. Anyone who downloads the app can purchase a code that unlocks the key to a bike at one of the stations.
City officials say there are over seven miles of bike lanes throughout downtown Biloxi ready for cyclists to take advantage of. City of Biloxi Public Affairs Specialist Cecilia Dobbs Walton said, “Very light, very fun to ride, very easy. It has a little basket on the front for when you’re visiting, going from one place to another, maybe doing some shopping or anything like that. They also have a lock so if you go somewhere to go shopping you can lock the bike up easily so you don’t lose it or it doesn’t get stolen.”
If you’re interested in being one of the first to try out the new service join city officials at the launch party tomorrow at 4:30 p.m.
The launch party includes a quick ride from the Biloxi Visitors Center to MGM Park for refreshments and a quick tutorial about how the service works.
