Bike the Beach Benefit
From classics to customs, biker fans from all along the Coast cruised to Gulfport this afternoon for the start of “Bike the Beach 2016.”
The annual celebration kicked off this evening with a welcome party at the Dock Bar and Grill in Gulfport.
“Bike the Beach” attracts street bikes, dirt bikes, scooters and more. All who registered received a “Bike the Beach” t-shirt, helmet sticker and wristband for sponsored events. Dock Bar and Grill Manager Alex Vasquez said, “It’s really an honor and a blessing. I love the Make-A-Wish Foundation and if anybody can get kids on bikes, the ride for kids thing is awesome. I love it.”
Meridian resident Mack Walters said, “We normally ride for St. Jude, but bikers giving back, the biggest charitable organization ever is a bike club. It’s a good time.”
The four day benefit features a pub crawl in Ocean Springs, a barbecue bash in Biloxi and a mass bike ride along the Coast.
A portion of proceeds raised go towards the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
