Benefit Fundraiser for Recovering Teen

Life has changed a lot over the past couple of months for two local teens who survived a fatal car crash in Saucier back on Christmas.
Family, friends and the community have rallied with and behind the two survivors as the long road to recovery continues. Fifteen-year-old Emily Oliver continues to recover from back surgery and many other injuries from an awful car wreck on Christmas that also injured her best friend, Andrea, and took the life of her sister’s soon-to-be fiancé. Emily escaped with her life but doctors say the chances that she’ll ever walk again are slim.
Tomorrow, a benefit fish fry will be held. Proceeds will help cover Emily and Andrea’s medical costs. Jenny Bosarge, Emily’s aunt, said, “It’s going to be a great event. I can’t wait to see everyone. I hope we have a great turn out. The weather’s supposed to be beautiful. Andrea will be at the benefit. Emily will not get to be there. She is recovering in Shepard’s at the moment but she will be looking forward to many pictures.”
The fish fry will be held at the Saucier-Lizana Road 361 Shelter. There will be cotton candy and bounce houses for the kids. There will also be a silent auction and raffle for adults.
