Become a steak cook-off judge

The Shed is hosting its second ‘Steak Cookers Association Steak Cook-off’ soon and you have a chance to be a judge.

The Shed’s steak competition is the second largest SCA competition in the world with over 20 teams from around the country participating, including most, if not all, SCA world grand champions.

Now you have the chance to taste and judge all of this food. On Thursday, January 23rd, SCA and the Shed will be hosting an SCA certified judging school that will enable participants to judge SCA sanctioned events from across the country and even around the world.

Most judges travel long distances to find these schools, but the Shed is bringing it right here to the Coast.  Shed Founder Brad Orrison said, “You become a member of the SCA which is the Steak Cookers Association and then you pay a small fee and take the class and then after that you are a certified judge. You can judge our competition and also there is 400 around the country actually they are going global now and it never expires so you will be a certified judge and you even get a little card to prove it. So, it’s pretty cool.”

Future judges can go to steakcookoffs.com to register for the class. The cook-off will take place at the Shed on January 24th and 25th. The public is welcome to attend.
