Beautification Efforts Ramp Up Gulfport

As the spring weather quickly rolls in, the City of Gulfport is sprucing up its downtown area.
Members of the Gulfport Mayor Youth Council, Main Street Association, and beautification team will be out for the next few weeks between Coast Roast and Pop Brothers.
This is in an effort to combine the parking lot between the two popular businesses and attract visitors to downtown Gulfport.
Volunteers are planting flowers, painting, and adding new bike racks to the area off Highway 49 and 16th Street.
Chris Vignes with the City of Gulfport said, “It’s a great area, a lot of people are coming in, these two businesses have brought in kind of a welcome mat into Gulfport now so we want people to have a lasting impression of what they’re seeing, so what you’ll do is you’ll come in and see this extras effort being added and you’ll see it happening all around Gulfport.”
You can expect to see crews working in this specific area for the next few weeks and continue the beautification efforts throughout the spring in downtown Gulfport.
