Bead Recycling Program
So you let the good times roll today, but what will you do with the Mardi Gras beads tomorrow?
The Bay Ratz Marching Battery will put your throws to good use. The organization is involved in at least five parades per year and coming up with the proper amount of beads can be tough.
This is why the Bay Ratz Marching Battery asks for your donations, recycles them and reuses the throws for the next Mardi Gras season.
Founder of the Organization Brian Wilemon tells News 25 each donation helps keep the festive activities possible on the Coast. “We are a children’s nonprofit. We teach music and education to kids. Everything is expensive associated with music. So, buying beads is something that we can’t afford. So, we ask for donated beads and people are really, really generous donating to us.”
