Beach replenishment project set to begin next year in Harrison County
HARRISON COUNTY, Miss. (WXXV)- Harrison County is moving forward with its $4 million project to repair and replace more than 100 drain pipes or outfalls that run from Highway 90 to the water line.
Sand Beach Department crews are digging up old pipes and replacing them with new ones.
This will compliment the $50 million project funded by the Corps of Engineers and the county to replenish the beach and bring it to its original 235 feet from the sea wall to the Mississippi Sound.
The beach replenishment project will begin in 2026.
