Bayou View student surprised with essay win

Jake Goldin may have just left Bayou View Elementary for the middle school, but he was given a chance to come back to receive a big honor.

InvestWrite is an innovative national writing competition, produced by the Stock Market Game.

They sponsored an essay competition that adds a critical thinking component to help reinforce concepts learned in the classroom.

Bayou View Elementary invited guests this morning to celebrate Jake winning the essay competition, but it was a big surprise to him — he was told he had to watch his little sister’s presentation. That’s how they got him to the elementary school for the big reveal.

Jake Goldin was given a medal, a certificate, and a pennant, along with every kid’s dream — a box of candy.
