Bay-Waveland Middle School principal dismissed

Bay-Waveland School District has removed Jeremy Weir as principal at the Middle School.

Superintendent Sandra Reed sent a message to staff saying that Thursday was Weir’s last day.

WXXV spoke to Reed, who said he was not terminated. As of Thursday, he no longer works for the district.

Reed said Deputy Superintendent Monty Noblitt will handle day-to-day operations and that Assistant Principal Tenneille Lamberth would remain in her position.

“Effective tomorrow,’ Mr. Noblitt will be on site to oversee day-to-day operations of the school. Of course, Dr. Lamberth will remain and will continue to assist you as needed.”

Reed went on to acknowledge that change is difficult for everyone.

“The central office leadership team is committed to doing whatever (is) necessary to continue supporting the instruction program at BWMS.”

Weir, a military veteran, previously worked at Hancock County School District. He joined the Bay-Waveland School District in 201- and was in administration the past five years, according to his Facebook page.

He also served as principal at North Bay Elementary.
