Bay St. Louis warning of fraudulent rezoning fee requests

BAY ST. LOUIS, Miss. (WXXV)- The Bay St. Louis Police Department is asking the public to be aware of a scam.

The scam, targeting residents, contracts, and property owners, is requesting rezoning payments.

Several individuals have reportedly received letters and emails of fraudulent city officials requesting the fees via wire transfer.

The police department wants to remind the public they will not request payment for any fees via wire transfer, email, or letter.

They also advise to not share personal info to unknown contacts and be cautious of urgent demands.
