Bay St. Louis PD honors women in law enforcement on National Police Woman Day
Today we recognize a special group of women who serve our communities every day.
It is National Police Woman Day and the Bay St. Louis Police Department is celebrating its five police officers who are women serving the community every day.
National Police Woman Day is a day to recognize women in law enforcement and the Bay St. Louis Police Department is doing just that.
Many of their female officers hold leadership roles within the force, including Captain Jewell and Sgt. Hampton.
Officer Holmes, Officer Rowley, and Officer Jones are also women on the force. Officer Holmes says today is a day to celebrate progress. “We definitely have made progress within this department and as a whole. It is definitely a male dominated department. It just basically gives us acknowledgement of how far we’ve come. We play a vital role and we feel very wanted and appreciated in law enforcement in today’s day.”
