Bay St. Louis native officially sworn in as city’s police chief

BAY ST. LOUIS, Miss. (WXXV) – On July 25, 2025, Alvin Kingston was officially sworn in as the new Police Chief of Bay St. Louis.

Surrounded by city leaders, family, and loved ones, the Bay St. Louis native proudly stepped into his new role during the ceremony.

Since November 2024, Kingston had been serving as Interim Chief before his appointment. He says having the opportunity to continue his career in his hometown is a blessing.

With over 18 years of law enforcement experience, Chief Kingston has been with the department since 2017. His appointment, ratified by the City Council on July 24th, marks the next chapter in his commitment to serving the community he proudly calls home.
