Bay St. Louis names police chief

The City of Bay St. Louis officially welcomes a new police chief.
This afternoon, city officials called a special meeting to introduce Daren Freeman as the city’s new police chief. Freeman served as the city’s interim chief since January after relieving the late Mike De Nardo. Freeman is a law enforcement veteran who just wants to bring guidance to what he calls an already tremendous police department.
Freeman is the former director of internal affairs for Mississippi Highway Patrol. He enters the position with 23 years of law enforcement experience.
