Bay St. Louis man charged with aggravated assault

On February 20th, Waveland officers were dispatched to the area of Sharon Street regarding a domestic dispute.
Officers arrived and spoke to the victim, a 17-year-old female. The victim advised that she was at her friend’s residence when her boyfriend arrived at her location.
The female and the male were sitting in his vehicle talking when the male became irate and began punching her in the face and choking her.
Her friend heard the disturbance and came outside which led to the male leaving the scene before officers arrived.
Officers observed the female to have two broken teeth and bruises to her neck and to her arms.
Officers were given a description of the male’s vehicle as a 2013 Hyundai Sonata with a Harrison County license plate.
A BOLO was given with the plate number and male’s description. A short time later an officer observed the vehicle traveling south bound on Waveland Avenue.
After a minor traffic infraction, a traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle was identified as 23-year-old Pharaoh Lyons of Bay St. Louis, the boyfriend of the victim.
Lyons was placed under arrest and charged with aggravated assault/domestic and improper equipment. He was transported to the Hancock County Jail.
