Bay St. Louis man accused of shooting uncle after argument

Hancock County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting over the weekend that left one man dead and another in jail.

Sheriff Ricky Adam said 25-year-old Devin Schwartz is charged with murder in the death of 61-year-old Marvin Schwartz of the Ansley Community.

Devin Schwartz was taken to the Hancock County jail and his bond was set at $500,000. His initial appearance was scheduled for Monday.

According to investigators, Devin and Marvin Schwartz were arguing when Devin Schwartz drove from his Bay St. Louis home before daylight to his uncle’s home in the Ansley Community.

Adam said Devin Schwartz fired his gun eight to 12 times.

Hancock County Coroner Jeff Hair said Marvin Schwartz died of an apparent gunshot wound. His autopsy is scheduled for this week.
