Bay St. Louis firefighter involved in a two vehicle accident

A Bay St. Louis firefighter has been hospitalized after being involved in a motorcycle accident early this morning.

Bay St. Louis Police Department responded to a two vehicle accident on Highway 603 at the Kiln-Waveland cutoff road at around 6:45 a.m.

Bay St. Louis Firefighter Michael Guitreau was traveling on his motorcycle on his way to work when he collided with another vehicle. He is currently hospitalized and working towards recovering from two broken legs, a ruptured spleen, a fractured pelvic bone, and possible chest injuries.

The driver of the car he collided with was not injured.
