Bay St. Louis election results

In Bay St. Louis, Mayor Les Fillingame will go head to head with mayoral candidate Mike Favre in the runoff.
After some technical difficulties, votes were finally tallied at the Bay St. Louis Community Hall. Not one of the three candidates running for mayor was strong enough to capture more then 50 percent of the vote. Favre’s votes came in just one percent over incumbent Mayor Les Fillingame’s results at 46 percent.
The close election results were something both Fillingame and Favre told News 25 they had anticipated. “The administration, the city council, has been divided over the last four years and he kind of represented the side of the council and I represented the side of the administration,” said Fillingame.
“We’re very happy with the way things went,” said Favre, “A lot of family and friends worked really hard on this. Great support throughout the city, it’s just a little disappointment in wards 5 and 6, not getting a turnout in wards 5 and 6 to vote.”
Mayoral candidate Rachael Ramsey had nearly eight percent of the votes. Candidates TJ Collier and Mike Weems will also run against each other in the runoff election for councilman at large.
