Bay high soccer star Aiden Boudro selected as Mississippi Gatorade Player of the Year
Bay high soccer star Aiden Boudro was recently selected as the Mississippi Gatorade Player of the Year.
The award goes to the top student-athlete in the entire Magnolia state in their respected sport. Boudro, who is entering his senior season, says the away wasn’t meant to be a goal – but something he as honored to receive. He added that he is now excited to try and earn the award again. Sports 25 spoke to Boudro and his head coach, Chris Doxey, about what this award means and the kind of player and person Aiden is.
“It was awesome,” Aiden said. “I didn’t know until…I’m going to play at Davidson and coach texted me and said congrats. I said, for what? He said congratulations and told me, I checked, and said that was awesome because I didn’t even know they were doing it.”
“I’m very proud,” said Doxey. “He’s a hard worker, he trains a lot on his own, he does a lot of work off the field as well as on the field. He is a good leader, a good guy to have in the locker room, passionate, but to pair his athletic ability with what he has inside is something special.”
Not only did Boudro say he is excited to try and earn the award again his senior season, but he also added how excited he is to try and win back-to-back-to-back state titles with his team for the first time in school history.
