Bay high school boys soccer sets their sights on their third straight MHSAA state championship

The Bay high boys are in search for a three-peat when they take the pitch on Saturday at Ridgeland high school at 2:00 P.M. The Tigers, led by senior Aiden Boudro, have set themselves up to three-peat for the first time in school history.

“That’s what we want, you know, we have been shooting for three,” Boudro said. “I said in another interview that two is a statement but three is history. That is what we want to make and we want to be remembered forever hopefully.”
To win state three years running it takes more than just one dominant player. It takes an entire team willing to do the right thing. Head coach Chris Doxey says that this years roster is full of leaders from top to bottom.
“Leaders from top to bottom,” Doxey said when asked what he likes most about his team this year. “It doesn’t matter if they are seniors we have leaders that are on the field. 9th graders, 10th grader, 11th graders 12th graders it doesn’t matter. We are a team. We lead from within, we lead from the bench and we lead of the field all the way from keeper to forward.”
Coach Doxey said his message this week will not change from what he has been expressing all season. While it is simple, and to the point, it’s effective when you are a team trying to make history.
“Our message all year has been a little hashtag A or B,” Doxey said. “A is to make history and B is to not make history. Right now they have set themselves up with one game, 80 minutes, to make history.”
“It means being remembered,” Boudro said. “You can go home to your parents, your family and friends and tell them that you three peated. Nobody in our school history has ever done that. There are very few who get the chance to, much less very few who do three peat, so we just want to be part of the very few who have done it.”
