Bay High Basketball Court dedicated to Tiger Legend Mike Necaise!
During Bay High Basketball’s Christmas tournament, a ceremony was held to proudly dedicate the court to the athlete, leader and public servant that is Mike Necaise!
His dedication to Hancock County started in high school, where he took home every single accolade an athlete could achieve as a tiger basketball player.
After his MVP, All-State, All-Conference and so much more career, he played collegiately and was eventually drafted into the NBA by the Seattle Supersonics and then to the ABA by the New York Nets.
After his basketball career came to an end, he became a high school coach, an Assistant Superintendent and then the Chancery Clerk of Hancock County for 16 years until he retired. With a legacy like that, it’s safe to say the entire community showed out for the one they call “go-go” and it truly caught Necaise by surprise.
