“Barkin’ on the Bayou” Benefit for Humane Society
Dog lovers spent the weekend with their pets at Captain Al’s to enjoy some fun on the water.
Captain Al’s teamed up with the Humane Society of South Mississippi to host ‘Barkin’ on the Bayou.’ The event allowed everyone to bring their dogs and enjoy live music, food, and raffles.
The Humane Society held adoptions in hopes of these pets finding forever homes.
The dogs also competed in a pet costume contest and best trick and treat contest.
Matthew Hudson, bar manager, tells News 25 Captain Al’s is no stranger to helping out. “It’s important for our small business owners to come out of COVID, post COVID, we need to rally around our community and support each other. It’s been a tough year and it’s important to keep our positive attitude and do fun things like this right here and to show support for our local communities absolutely.”
All proceeds benefited the Humane Society of South Mississippi. Those who brought a bag of dog or cat food also received 15% off on their meal ticket.
