Baptist church holds food drive for those in need
People Mission Baptist Church held a food drive to help their neighbors in need.
The church gave away nearly 10,000 pounds of food, giving away fresh produce, frozen meats, and baked goods.
People were able to take home a bag full of fresh food to make a meal with.
On a day that’s not rainy, the church gives around 20,000 pounds to locals in need.
Their mission is simple: people.
People Mission Baptist Church believes that serving each other is the best way to live life.
“The simplistic side of it is if everybody would put themselves in a position of servitude, then status and everything like that wouldn’t even come into play, cause everybody is looking out for one another,” said Danyel Nichols, the assistant pastor of the church. “So, us as whole got to always look at things like that.”
