Balloon release in honor of Kelvin Simmons

A mourning family is seeking justice for the death of Kelvin Simmons. They want answers and request the gunman to turn themselves in.

The Simmons family gathered in Gulfport to remember the life of Kelvin Simmons. Heartbroken and confused, family members try to come to terms with the death of their loved one.

The family tells News 25 this was a senseless act of violence done to a man who didn’t deserve it.

Through the tears, the family still found reasons to laugh as they reminisce on memories with Kelvin Simmons. Simmons’ daughter LaKeasha Coleman said, “Terrible. I just want my daddy back and I can’t have him back.”

Simmons’ significant other DeShanta Tate said, “We would really be fine if we see justice. We’re seeking justice. We want justice to be served. This was senseless. This was senseless. A hard-working man, own business, family guy, always showed loved, always joking with family and friends.”

The family is waiting for the results of the autopsy to make arrangements for his funeral service.
