Bake Sale Benefits Pink Heart Funds

The scent of pink frosted cupcakes, freshly baked brownies, donuts and more filled the Harrison County Courthouse today, all baked with love and hope.
It’s all benefiting the Pink Hearts Fund, a non-profit organization that provides wigs to cancer patients. The sale was sponsored by the Circuit Clerk’s Office. This is something Circuit Clerk Connie Ladner says is a way to give back after the help she received from Pink Heart Funds throughout her battle with cancer.
Just last week, Pink Heart Funds suffered a pretty big blow, losing more than $200,000 to an embezzlement scheme. They say they’re still offering the same services despite the major loss. “This is what we’re here for and that’s what we’re counting on the community for. They’ve been there, Pink Heart Fund has been there to help so many and that’s what we’re doing today to give back. They were there to help, not only me, but we have other cancer survivors here that they have helped. We’re here today to give back,” said Ladner.
If you missed the bake sale today, there’s plenty of other ways to contribute. You still have the next two weeks to pick up raffle tickets at the Harrison County Courthouse for items like a Brett Favre signed football. The drawing will be September 16th.
