Bait and tackle shop reopens in Gulfport

Good news for fishermen in Gulfport! They will no longer have to travel to get their fishing bait.

Gulfport Marina Bait and Tackle has reopened with a new tenant. The shop is open seven days a week and opens at 5 a.m. and will stay open until dark. The shop sits beside Moses Pier at the harbor’s south end.

Gulfport Harbor Master George Manemann tells News 25 the harbor is excited to welcome the bait shop back and they are looking forward to the services it will offer to fishermen. “The citizens and visitors here in Gulfport are thrilled to have the bait shop back. They have got live shrimp, bull minnows, fresh dead shrimp, which means they have never been frozen. They also have frozen shrimp, squid, a bunch of tackle and they even have some tourist supplies and some beach-going supplies in case kids want to play out on the beach and have some buckets and some sand and that kind of thing.”
